A Quick and Easy Homemade Granola Bars Recipe

Do you want to enjoy a healthy and delicious snack? Homemade granola bars are a great way to do just that. Not only are they easy to make, but they are also much healthier than store bought granola bars. Granola bars are a great snack to have on hand when you are on the go. Here is a quick and easy recipe that you can make at home.

Ingredients

For this recipe you will need: 2 cups rolled oats, 1/2 cup nut butter (such as almond, peanut, or cashew butter), 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup, 1/2 cup chopped nuts or seeds, 1/4 cup dried fruit (such as raisins, cranberries, or cherries), and 1/4 cup chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate (optional).

Directions

Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper. In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, nut butter, honey or maple syrup, nuts or seeds, and dried fruit. Stir until everything is combined. If you are adding in the chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate, add them in now and stir until they are evenly distributed.

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Storage

These bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. You can also freeze them for up to three months. To freeze, simply wrap the bars individually in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer safe container. When you are ready to eat them, just defrost them at room temperature for an hour or two.
