A Delicious and Healthy Treat
Apple Crisp is a popular dessert that can be enjoyed year-round. It’s a great way to use up a surplus of apples and is surprisingly low in fat. This easy to make dessert can be served warm or cold and is sure to please all of your family and friends.
Ingredients
You will need 4-5 apples, 3/4 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of oats, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of white sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/4 cup of melted butter.
Preparing the Apples
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F. Peel and core the apples then slice them into thin pieces. Place the apples in a medium-sized bowl and set aside.
Making the Topping
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, sugars, and cinnamon. Mix these ingredients together until they are well blended. Add the melted butter to the dry ingredients and continue to mix until a crumbly texture is formed.
Assembling the Apple Crisp
Using a 9-inch baking dish, spread the apples evenly in the dish. Sprinkle the topping over the apples and spread it out evenly.
Baking the Apple Crisp
Bake the Apple Crisp in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is a golden brown. Once the apple crisp is finished baking, let it cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Serving the Apple Crisp
This dessert can be served warm or cold and can be topped with a scoop of vanilla or cinnamon ice cream. You can also top the apple crisp with whipped cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce. Enjoy!
